Das Originalgemälde von Guido Reni befindet sich heute in der National Gallery in London und wurde im späten 18. Jahrhundert aus den Florentiner Museen verkauft. Das Siegel auf der Rückseite deutet darauf hin, dass das vorliegende Gemälde als Ersatz für das Originalgemälde gefertigt wurde. Es kann also angenommen werden, dass es kurze Zeit nach Verkauf des Originalgemäldes entstanden ist.
In insgesamt gutem Zustand, rest. und mit leichten, oberflächlichen Kratzern. Kleine Vorwölbung in der Leinwand unter dem Wachssiegel. (1020201) (12)

The original painting by Guido Reni is today held at the National Gallery in London and was sold by the Florentine Museums in the late 18th century. The seal on the reverse indicates that the present painting was created as a replacement for the original painting. It can be assumed that it was created shortly after the sale of the original painting. In good overall condition. Restored with minor surface scratches. Canvas bulging where the wax seal is affixed on the reverse.
