Mit lithografierter Erdkarte belegt. Das Gestell in Holz geschnitzt in Form eines kräftigen, kurzen Balusters über vier geschweiften Löwentatzenfüßen mit hochziehendem Akanthusblattwerk. Der Äquatorialring in Holz von hölzernen Spangen getragen mit Skalierung sowie Sternzeichenangaben. Der Meridianring in Messing mit gravierter Gradeinteilung. Signatur auf Kartusche mit Aufschrift „30 inch/ Terrestrial Globe/ by/ W.&A. K. Johnston, Limited/ Geographers, Engravers & Printers, Edinburgh & London“.
Alexander Keeth Johnston (1804 - 1871) gründete zusammen mit seinem Bruder das Kartographie-Institut. 1850 publizierte er ein „Dictionary of Geography“ sowie einen „Royal Atlas of Modern Geography“ 1855. (1010043)

Alexander Keeth Johnston (1804 - 1871) founded the Institute of Cartography together with his brother. In 1850 he published a “Dictionary of Geography” and a “Royal Atlas of Modern Geography” in 1855.
