Nussholz, geschnitzt, rückseitig abgeflacht. Zentrales Augenmerk der Schnitzdarstellung ist das ins Hochrelief ziehende, markant geschnitzte Haupt Christi mit Dornenkrone. Das Hochrelief des Haupts hinterfangen von einem vergoldeten Tuch, beidarmig ausgebreitet von der Heiligen Veronika, deren Haupt über dem Christuskopf verkleinert wiedergegeben ist. Schöne Alterspatina. Die Fassung weitgehend erhalten, die Vergoldung auf rotbraunem Bolus. (1001355) (11)

Spain, end of the 16th century.
Carved walnut, flattened on the reverse. Beautiful age patina. The polychrome decoration is mostly preserved, the gilding on red-brown Armenian bole base coat.
