Nach dem altägyptischen Gott des Lebens und der Fortpflanzung, der für seine Widderhörner bekannt war, werden Ammoniten seit Tausenden von Jahren von Kulturen auf der ganzen Welt geschätzt. Ammoniten sind ausgestorbene Kopffüßer, die ebenso schön wie wichtig für die Erforschung von Geologie und Paläontologie sind. Zu den am meisten geschätzten Ammoniten gehören die Ammolit-Ammoniten. The ammolite on offer for sale in this lot gleams in all colours of the rainbow and is one of the rarest gemstones. Its formation is due to a unique geological process that occurs when an ammonite fossilizes and is found only in Alberta, northeast of the Rocky Mountains.
