Die vorliegende Büste ist wohl im Umkreis von Giovachino Fortini (1671-1736) entstanden. Sie erinnert etwa an eine Büste, welche am 3.12.2008 bei Sotheby’s London unter Los 149 angeboten worden ist. Unsere Büste ist in leicht grau geädertem, in weißem Marmor gestaltet und zeigt einen nach rechts gewandten Mann, seine Linke auf seinen rechten Arm gelegt und somit die weiten Manchetten dem Betrachter zugewandt. The bust was probably created from the circle of Giovachino Fortini (1671-1736). It is reminiscent of a bust sold at Sotheby's London on 3 December 2008 under lot 149. The bust on offer for sale here is made of slightly grey veined white marble and depicts a man turned to the right with his left hand placed on his right arm and turned the broad cuffs to the viewer.
This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
