Vorbild für den Maler der beiden Bilder war Giacomo Guardi. Er führte die venezianische Vedutenmalerei seines Vaters Francesco fort, wobei er seine Bilder zumeist in kleineren Formaten schuf, was auf das Interesse der Grand Tour-Sammlerkreise stieß. Dies hatte auch zur Folge, dass seine Bildmotive hauptsächlich die attraktiven Ansichten Venedigs zeigen. Von seinem Vater hat er allerdings die Lockerheit und oft mystische Stimmung in den Bildern übernommen. (13913811) (3) (11)
