Großformatige Landschaft mit rechts weit emporragender antiker Tempelruine mit korinthischen Kapitellen. Zu den Füßen der kannellierten Säulen mehrere sinnierende antike Philosophen. Das Gemälde ist kompositionel wenn auch seitenverkehrt, mit dem Bild im Walters Art Museum, Baltimore (Inv.Nr. 37.525) vergleichbar.
