Majolika-Sirupkanne

Sirupkanne auf schlankem, gekehltem Fuß mit engem Ausguss und hohem Hals. Frontal ist ein Wappenfeld zu sehen, dessen geschweifte Kartusche von einer Muschel bekrönt wird. Das Wappen selbst zeigt eine Hand, die einen Blumenstrauß hält, darüber eine umgedrehte Mondsichel. Die Wandung des Gefäßes zieren über einer mit Ringen gestalteten Sockelzone große Blattranken bis zum Hals. Die Rückseite ist undekoriert. Die Bemalung in Blau auf Hellblau.Kleine Glasurabplat-zungen an den Rändern. Rest. an Tülle und Fuß.

Ein Wappen mit einer Hand, die einen Strauß hält, jedoch ohne Mondsichel, besitzt die Stadt Afragola in der Provinz Neapel. (9300013)

Syrup jar on a tapering foot with narrow spout and tall neck. Frontally, the jar is decorated with a curved cartouche crowned with a motif comprising a shell with protruding arms. The arms show a hand holding a bouquet of flowers over a horizontal crescent moon opening ot the top. The base is decorated with bands, the body painted with vines up to the neck. The reverse is plain. Painted in blue on light blue. Small glazing chips on the rims. Restored spout and foot.

Notes:
A coat of arms with a hand holding a bouquet of flowers (but without a crescent moon), belongs to the city of Afragola in the province of Naples.
