Die Wandung konkav nach innen gezogen, die Lippe leicht nach außen strebend. Die Vorderseite dekoriert mit Rundmedaillon. Darin die Darstellung eines römischen Kriegers mit Schriftband, darunter die pharmazeutische Signatur "Dia Boragine", auf einem nach hinten stark gerollten Schriftband. Mit reichem Ranken- und Blattdekor auf dunkelblauem, grünem und ockerfarbenem Fond. Die Schulter des Gefäßes mit Ranken- und Blattdekor in Gelb auf grünem Fond. Einwandfreier Zustand. Eine Abplatzung an der Lippe.

A Rare Albarello, from the workshop of Virgiliotto Calamelli

Faenza, first half of the 16th century.

The wall is inwardly concave and the lip protrudes slightly outward. The jar depicts a Roman warrior with a scroll, under which is the pharmaceutical signature "Dia Boragine" on a tightly backwards rolled scroll. The jar is richly decorated with tendrils and foliage on a dark blue, green, and ochre colored fond. The shoulders of the jars are decorated with yellow tendrils and foliage on green fond. In flawless condition. Spalling to the lip.
