Im Zentrum der Darstellung zwei Putten nackt wiedergegeben, mit kurzen Flügeln, wobei das liegende Kind als Mädchen, das links kniende als Knäblein zu deuten ist, was auch der Handlung der beiden entspricht: Der Knabe hält eine große Traube, die er wohl von dem zwischen Trauben sitzenden Mädchen erhalten hat. Das Traubenstilleben mit Pfirsichen, Äpfeln und Birnen angereichert, in der rechten Ecke eine aufgerissene Melone. Das Thema ist nicht ohne erotische Anspielung, wenn man die Bedeutung der Früchte in Betracht für die damalige Zeit in Betracht zieht. Das Gemälde wurde möglicherweise von zwei verschiedenen Malerhänden ausgeführt, wobei die Putten möglicherweise auf Maximilian Pfeiler zurückzuführen sind, der aus der deutschen Malschule des beginnenden 18. Jahrhunderts in Rom tätig war. (811079)
