Der französische Maler machte Reisen in die Provence, nach Korsika, Sizilien und Korfu. Das steil ansteigende Gebirge mit seiner höchsten Erhebung, dem Pic des Mouches, unter hohem hellblauen Himmel mit großen weißen Wolken. Im Vordergrund ein großer Kaktus und ein rot blühender Baum, rechtsseitig ein Gebäude, bei dem es sich wohl um die Kirche von Fuveau handelt. Malerei in raschem Pinselduktus in expressiver Farbgebung.
