Bronze, patiniert. Feine Gussausführung, gut erhaltene Lackpatina, die an einigen Stellen altersbedingt leicht berieben ist und einen helleren Glanz aufweist. Der Schild des Kämpfers mit dem Gorgonenhaupt im Relief, separat gegossen und montiert. Die Bronzefigur auf zugehörigem ebonisiertem Längsrechtecksockel mit Messingbandeinlagen.
Anmerkung:
Die vorliegende Bronze ist eine Interpretation des berühmten „Borghesischen Fechters“, einer der am meisten bewunderten antiken Skulpturen, die seit ihrer Entdeckung in Porto d‘Anzio kurz vor 1611 in der Villa Borghese war, bis sie im Jahr 1807 durch Napoleon erworben wurde.
