Der junge Mann in abgerissener Kleidung im Dreiviertelbildnis vor dunklem Hintergrund wiedergegeben, hält eine eben aus der hölzernen Falle genommene Maus vor seiner Brust und wird dabei von der Katze auf seinem Rücken scharf beobachtet. Insbesondere die lachende Mimik des Jünglings erinnert an die Portraitauffassung von Frans Hals d.Ä. (1580-1666), wie auch die Katze auf der Schulter seines Bildes der „Malle Babbe“, das zwischen 1633 und 1635 entstand. Kl. Rahmenschäden. (12617567) (18)

In magnificent gilt frame.
The laughing facial expression of the young boy is reminiscent of portraits by Frans Hals the Elder, as is the cat perched on the shoulder of the boy when compared with Hals “Malle Babbe” painting, created between 1633 and 1635. With minor damages to frame.
