Fayence, gegossen, glasiert, Glasaugen. Sitzender Mops gelb und blau gefasst mit aufgerichteten Ohren und wachem Blick. In der sich scharf vom vorherrschenden Historismus absetzenden Farbigkeit, schwingt eine frühe Auseinandersetzung mit ostasiatischen Einflüssen mit.
Anmerkung:
Gengoult Prouvé wie auch später sein Sohn Victor Prouvé waren Mitarbeiter bei Émile Gallés Vater Charles Gallé-Reinemer und es wird angenommen, dass der Entwurf zu der vorliegenden Skulptur und ähnlicher Darstellungen von Hunden und Katzen aus Gengoult Prouvés Hand stammt.
