Zuweisung an Ludovico Carracci (1555–1619) durch Expertise von Giovanni Gentile. Die beiliegende Expertise nennt weitere Gemälde des Künstlers als Bildvergleiche, wobei hier anzumerken wäre, dass das vorliegende Bild eher in die frühere Schaffensperiode des Künstlers gezählt werden könnte.
Das altbiblische Thema der Verführung des alten Loth durch seine Töchter in eine Landschaft gesetzt, mit rechts oben aufziehenden kräftigen Baumstämmen mit Laubwerk vor Wolkenhimmel. Loth nach links auf einem Steinblock sitzend, hält eine Tazza hoch und wird gleichzeitig von einer der Töchter gehalten. Sein Blick weinschwer nach oben gerichtet. Die zweite Tochter, links kniend wiedergegeben, hält einen Weinkrug. (1181441) (7) (11)

An expert’s report by Giovanni Gentile identifies the painting as a work by Ludovico Carracci (1555–1619). It also mentions further paintings by the artist as examples of comparison. It should also be pointed out that the painting on offer for sale in this lot is probably from the early period of the artist’s oeuvre.
