Die Darstellung von Venus, welche durch einen teilverschatteten Satyr begleitet wird, nimmt Bezug auf Gemälde von Hans von Aachen, dessen Einfluss auf den Künstler des vorliegenden Gemäldes unverkennbar ist. So nimmt die (hier sehr feine) Darstellung kompositorischen Bezug auf "Bacchus und Silen" im Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest, wo ebenfalls (wie bei einigen anderen Gemälden van Aachens auch) das leuchtende Inkarnat der weiblichen Figur vor die verschattete männliche Halbfigur auf der linken Seite gestellt wird.
