After his return to the Dalmatian Coast he left for Venice from 1943. In 1944 he was imprisoned and taken to Dachau, where he created over 200 drawings documenting the horrors of the concentration camp, although only 35 of these survived the war. In 1945 Music returned to Venice and took part in the Biennale several time, as well as in Documenta in Kassel. 1950s saw his painting style change and, according to the artist, it "described the inner essence of things".
