Die Szenerie im Abendlicht der weiten Landschaft mit hohem wolkigen Himmel, der sich partiell ins Blaue öffnet. Der Horizont gesäumt von Weidenbäumen, auf dem Fluss mehrere Segelschiffe. Im Vordergrund am Oberufer zentral drei Kühe, links von ihnen ein stehender sowie ein sitzender Hirte und ein Knabe. Rechts ein zum Ufer anlegender Kahn mit zwei Männern besetzt.

Signed lower left. On the frame four old labels, including a reference to the Henderson collection with date “1899”, as well as other ownership labels.

Sunset scenery of a wide landscape with clouds opening up to reveal tall blue skies. The horizon lined with willow trees, several sailing boats on the river. Three cows are standing in the foreground at centre on the upper bank of the river with a standing and a seated herdsman as well as a boy on the left. On the right, a boat with two men is docked on the riverbank.
