Insgesamt in schönem Zustand. (1020717) (12)
Roberto Gaetano Crippa,
1921 Monza - 1972 Milan
UNTITLED, 1967
Collage on panel.
73 x 92 cm.
Verso signed on panel and dated and with stamp of the Catalogo Generale and no. “172”.
Accompanied by a certificate by Roberto Crippa Catalogo Generale delle Opere with no “172”.
Crippa is one of the greatest protagonists of “Spatialism”, an art movement which he joined in 1947 at the invitation of Lucio Fontana. From 1958 onwards he dedicated his work to creating relief collages. He used the most diverse materials for these, such as newspapers or wood, as can also be seen in the present work. A pierced, organic shape with colourfully underlaid holes arises at the centre like a mountain against a background of stiff folds in orange and green.
This object has been individually compared to the information in the Art Loss Register data bank and is not registered there as stolen or missing.
