Ein von links vorn diagonal in das Bildgeschehen hineinführender Fluss wird von einer dichten Ufervegetation begleitet und zeigt in jeder Kurve einen sanften Wassersturz. Schafe laben sich an dem Wasser, eine Frau liegt rechts vorn offensichtlich von dem sanft plätschernden Geräusch des Wassers übermannt, während Hirten sich den Schafen widmen.
