1827 Marseille – 1910 Paris
Schüler von Picot, beschickte den Pariser Salon in den Jahren 1857 bis 1901 fast ausschließlich mit orientalischen Szenen und erhielt 1893 eine Medaille. Er war überwiegend als Pferdemaler bekannt geworden. Werke seiner Hand in Dünkirchen, Limoges und Lille in öffentlichen Sammlungen.BEGEGNUNG ZWEIER ARABISCHER REITERSTÄMME Öl auf Leinwand.

Auf einem Hochplateau am Meer treffen zwei arabische Reiterstämme aufeinander. Rechts befinden sich vier Reiter mit sechs Pferden. Der eine Reiter ist abgestiegen und nähert sich der im linken Mittelgrund befindenden Gruppe von fünf weiteren Reitern. Das friedliche Aufeinandertreffen spielt sich vor einer Gruppe Bäume ab, den Blick auf das Meer verdeckend, darüber ein leicht bewölkter Sommerhimmel. (9903148) (12)
