Die großformatigen, repräsentativen Stilleben jeweils mit nach der Jagd erlegtem Getier wie Fasan und Hase. Auf dem einen Gemälde mit einem Paar Hunde, das sich der Beute neugierig und eifersüchtigt genähert hat. Das andere Gemälde ebenfalls mit erlegtem Getier sowie einem Stilleben mit Früchten und einem Blütenbukett. Der Maler Alexandre François Desportes erlangte Bekanntheit als Maler von Jagdstücken und Stilleben, die er aus Wildbrät, Früchten sowie Blüten komponierte. Auf eben diese bekannten und beliebten Kompositionen gehen die beiden Gemälde zurück. (980604) (12)
