Namhafter und bedeutender, belgischer Medailleur und Bildhauer, der in Paris gewirkt hat, mehrfach im Salon ausgestellt wurde und zahlreiche Preise erhielt. Für die Pariser Weltausstellungen schuf er die jeweiligen Medaillen, als Mitglied der Société des Artistes Français stand er im Rang des Kurators des Museums von Cosne-sur-Loire. Seine Bildhauerarbeiten in Marmor und Terrakotta sowie in Bronze sind äußerst selten, die Bronzefiguren wurden in der bekannten Gießerei Rudier gegossen, die auch für Rodin gerabeitet hat.
