Isaacson war Schüler und Freund von Meyer de Haan und lebte 1888 - 1890 in Paris, wo er die Werke der damaligen Avantgarde kennenlernte und sich mit Théo van Gogh befreundete. 1890 veröffentlichte er seine erste Kritik über dessen Bruder Vincent in der niederländischen Zeitschrift De Portefeuille. Zwischen beiden ist auch ein Briefwechsel dokumentiert. Künstlerisch spezialisierte sich Isaacson auf orientalistische oder biblische Motive, inspiriert durch seine Ägyptenreisen 1896 und 1905. Vereinzelte punktuelle Farbabsplitterungen im Randbereich, geringe Retuschen. Rahmenleiste.

Isaacson was a pupil and friend of Jacob Meyer de Haan and lived in Paris from 1888 until 1890, where he learnt about the works of the avant-garde. There, he met and became friends with Théo van Gogh. In 1890, he published his first critique about van Gogh’s brother Vincent in the Dutch journal De Portefeuille. The correspondence between Vincent and Isaacson is documented. As an artist he specialised in orient and bible motifs. Few pin-point losses of colour in the outer area, small retouched spots.
