Der Pharao der 18. Dynastie des Neuen Reiches (1504 - 1492 v. Chr.) ließ unter anderem den im Bild dargestellten Obelisk errichten, der die Aufmerksamkeit des Ägypten-Tourismus des 19. Jahrhunderts bereits stark in den Bann zog. Der Obelisk hier neben einem Pylon im Zentrum des Bildes wiedergegeben, zwischen den großen Steintrümmern ein Kamelreiter und weitere arabische Staffagefiguren.
