Am linken, unteren Bildrand schwer leserlich die Aufschrift "Roma.Viterbo", rechts unten Künstlerbezeichnung "Pietro da Cortona".

Im Zentrum der Darstellung zwei junge Tiger, die das Haupt des Goliath an einer Stange zwischen mehreren Personen herbeiführen. Rechts in der Federführung kräftiger aufgetragen die nach links ins Zentrum hereintretende, jugendliche Gestalt des David mit übergroßem Schwert des Goliath, das er auf der Schulter trägt. Dahinter König Saul zu Pferde, links eine Gruppe Frauen mit Tamburin im Triumphzug singend. Leicht altersgebräuntes Papier mit entsprechenden Stockflecken. (950982)
