Mit aller Wahrscheinlichkeit ist hier der Brenta-Kanal gemeint, der schon im 18. Jahrhundert von zahlreichen Villen und Prachtbauten gesäumt ist. Hier im Bild ist eine Reihe kleinerer Paläste zu sehen, die jenseits des Ufers durch Mauern zusammengebunden sind, dahinter Gärten. Links im Bild eine doppeltürmige Zentralkirche. Im Vordergrund zahlreiche Figurenstaffage mit Reitern, Kutsche sowie Pferden in der Schwämme. Im Hintergrund ein Höhenzug in der Ferne, der die venezianische Tiefebene nördlich begrenzt. (952133)
