Waldlandschaft mit einem links stehenden Wirtshaus unter Bäumen mit Steinterrasse, darauf Kellnerin mit drei Gästen, von denen einer auf die Sonntagsspaziergänger herabblickt, die im Vordergrund mit einem Kind herbeikommen, in Begleitung eines Hündchens. Weiter hinten bäuerlich gekleidete Magd mit einem Mädchen auf dem Hohlweg, der nach hinten durch die Bäume den Blick auf Felsgestein freigibt. Spätromantische, spitzweghafte Auffassung des Themas.
