Nach links im Angriff ziehende Reiter in orientalischer Sandwüste, eine Attacke reitend. Voran ein Franzose in Uniform mit gezücktem Degen, ihm folgend arabische Reiter mit Krummschwertern, links hinten eine Gruppe Artilleristen.
Anmerkung:
Der Künstler war Sohn des holländischen Malers Karel Frederik Bombled. Er wurde erstmals 1885 im Pariser Salon erwähnt und erhielt dort die Goldmedaille auf der Weltausstellung 1900. Sein Werk zeigt überwiegend militärische Szenen, was ihn auch zum Illustrator von Kriegsgeschehen machte, so illustrierte er Werke von J. F. Cooper oder Walter Scott. Werke seiner Hand im Museum in Leicester. (940804)
