Der Künstler besuchte die Akademie der Schönen Künste in Neapel unter der Leitung von Gioacchino Toma sowie Maldarelli. Bereits 19-jährig nahm er an Ausstellungen teil, später zeigte er seine Bilder in München, Berlin oder Barcelona. Viele seiner Werke in bedeutenden privaten und öffentlichen Sammlungen, wie etwa der Galleria d'Arte Moderna di Torino.

Das schlanke Hochformat zeigt die elegante Gestalt einer noch sehr jungen Frau in weißem Kleid, das auf die Jahrhundertwende deutet. Verschämt wendet sie sich von ihrem ebenfalls sehr jungen Kavalier ab, der sie von links bedrängt. Das helle Licht in dem ansonsten recht dunklen Raum liegt ganz auf der Gestalt der jungen Frau und lässt sie in dem weißen Gewand umso unschuldiger wirken. Im Hintergrund rechts sind die Köpfe einiger weiterer Männer zu sehen. In dem für den Maler charakteristischen postimpressionistischen Duktus. (940755)
