Porzellan, weiß glasiert, rot und gold staffiert; Messingmontierung mit Glaskolben. Über profiliertem Fuß zylindrischer Korpus mit ausgestellter Lippe. Eingesetzte Apparatur zur Gasentzündung mittels Platinschwämmchen. Darauf Plaketten: Karl Walter Berlin W. Charlottenstr. 30. Besch.
Anmerkung:
1823 entwickelte Johann Wolfgang Döbereiner aus dem sog. Fürstenberger Feuerzeug ein Platinfeuerzeug, welches bis 1880 vertrieben wurde und auch "Döbereiner Feuerzeug" genannt wurde. Hierbei entweicht verdünnte Schwefelsäure als Gas einem zu öffnenden Glastank, um mit dem Zink zu reagieren. Hierbei entsteht Wasserstoff, welcher über einen Platinschwamm geleitet wird. Da hierbei Wasserstoff mit Sauerstoff reagiert, entsteht Wärme - das Gasgemisch wird entzündet. Durch Betätigung des Hebels wird der Gaszufluss gestoppt, wodurch die Säure zurück in das Glasgefäß gedrückt wird. (9401618)
