Das "Grand Tour"-Objekt aus Giallo d'Italia-Marmor, die Täubchen aus Alabaster. Die Tazza auf kleiner, quadratischer Plinthe, der Fuß mit Blättern besetzt, daruber Anuli und Kehle. Das Becken mit Kymation-Lippe. Auf dem Beckenrand angesetzt vier Täubchen beim Trinken oder der Gefiederpflege. Als Vorbild diente das berühmte Mosaik mit Tauben aus der Hadriansvilla, das bei Plinius beschrieben wurden, das sich heute in den Kapitolinischen Museen befindet. Min. besch. (941502)
