Veronesi machte zunächst eine Ausbildung zum Textilzeichner. Danach besuchte er Kurse bei dem neapolitanischen Maler Carmelo Violante, der an der Accademia Carrara in Bergamo lehrte. 1932 begegnete er Léger in Paris. Seine Kunst entwickelte sich zusehens von figurativer zu abstrakter Malerei. In seinen Arbeiten fließen verschiedene Strömungen der europäischen Avantgarde-Kunst zusammen.

Hinter Glas gerahmt.
Abstrakte Komposition von ineinander und gegeneinander drängenden und liegenden Flächen in grauen und gelblichen Schattierungen. Darüber parallel liegende, rechteckige, schmale Stabformen in Rottönen, die Dynamik erzeugen.
Das vorliegende Werk entstand in der Zeit, als Veronesi in Venedig Grafikgestaltung lehrte.
