Der italienische Künstler zählt zu den wichtigsten Vertretern der postmodernen Transavantgarde in Italien. Ausgebildet wurde er am Istituto d'Arte in Florenz und an der Accademia di Belle Arti. Nach seinem Umzug nach Rom entwickelte er seine Art Konzeptkunst. In seinen Arbeiten finden sich oft Zitate älterer Kunstepochen wie dem Manierismus, aber auch Kubismus oder Futurismus. Gerne nimmt er Zyklopen, Centauren oder auch Heilige zum Gegenstand seiner Kunst.

In einem flachen Bildraum vor grüner Wand kniet eine stark stilisierter, männlicher Akt. Ein Bein ist aufgestellt, das andere in den Boden gedrückt. Seine Hände presst er mit weit erhobenen Armen an den Kopf und neigt den Oberkörper angespannt nach links.
