Majolika-Vase

Kugelförmiges Gefäß mit kurzem, engem Hals und leicht auskragender Lippe. Das Bildfeld begrenzen oben und unten Bänder in verschiedenen Breiten. Die Bemalung mit zwei Bildnis-Tondi. Eines zeigt einen Feldherren im Profil nach links. Sein Haupt bedeckt ein Helm. Im anderen Tondo ist ein bärtiger Mann mit Turban zu sehen, der den Kopf etwas nach links wendet. Beide Bildnisse sind vor gelbem Fond dargestellt, gerahmt werden sie durch Blattkränze mit Blüten und Früchten. Zwischen den Tondi sind Trophäen vor blauem Fond zu sehen, der durch weiße, schmale Bänder belebt wird. Bemalung in Blau, Gelb, Grün, Ocker und Grau. Die Kugelform mit kleiner Einbuchtung seitlich, Chips an der Lippe und Glasurabplatzungen am Rand und zwei im Bildfeld. (8910327)

Spherical vase with short, narrow neck and slightly flared rim. The image field is bordered by ribbons of varying width at top and bottom. The vase is painted with two portrait tondi. One depicts a general in profile to the left wearing a helmet. The other tondo is decorated with a bearded man wearing a turban, his head slightly turned to the left. Both portraits painted on a yellow ground and framed by floral and fruit wreaths. In between the tondi there are trophies painted on a blue ground, which is ornamented with narrow white ribbons. Painted in blue, yellow, green, ochre and grey. The spherical shape with a slight indentation at one side, chips along the lip and glaze chips along the rim and two within the image field.
