Großer Majolika-Albarello

Großer Albarello auf wulstigem Fußring, mit flacher Schulter und sich weitender, hoher Öffnung. Auf der Front formt ein blauer, gebogter Rahmen ein annähernd quadratisches Bildfeld. In diesem ist in einer Landschaft eine Opferdarstellung zu sehen. Es handelt sich um Moses und Aaron, die an einem hoch aufgemauerten Altar stehen, auf dem schon ein kleines Feuer brennt. Um die beiden steht das Volk, das den beiden Männern seine Opfergaben darreicht. Vorne, vor dem Altar kniet ein Mann mit einem dunklen Schaf, zwischen Moses und Aaron steht ein prächtiges Gefäß, dahinter sind einige Schafe zu sehen. Den Mittelgrund teilen zwei Bäume, auf dieser Höhe befinden sich beidseitig je zwei Reittiere mit Reitern, rechts zwei Frauen mit ihren Kindern. Unter dem Bild läuft ein Schriftband, auf dem "SEM(ola)/PAPAV(ero)/C(ompositum)" für zusammengesetzte Arznei aus Mohn-Grieß zu lesen ist. Die Rückseite ist auf dem weißen Fond beschriftet mit dem Monogramm "S. N." und der Jahreszahl "1737". Bemalung in Blau, Grün, Gelb, Ocker. Mangan, Braun und Schwarz. Chips am oberen Rand. Large albarello on heavy foot ring, flat shoulder and tall, everted rim. At the front a blue cartouche encloses a nearly square image. The image depicts a landscape with a sacrificial scene. This is the Biblical story of Moses and Aaron who are standing in front of a tall, bricked altar with a burning fire. The figures surrounding the two men present sacrificial offerings. A man with a black sheep kneels in front of the altar and there is a luxurious jar between Moses and Aaron and more sheep behind. The middle ground is divided by two trees, with two riders on each side and two women with their children to the right. There is a scroll underneath the painting inscribed SEM(ola)/ PAPAV(ero)/ C(ompositum), for combined medicine from poppy seed and semolina. The reverse is painted white and monogrammed 'S. N.' and dated '1737'. Painted in blue, green, yellow, ochre, manganese, brown and black. Chips along the rim.
