Bis zum tief liegenden Horizont erstreckt sich eine Landschaft mit Wasserflächen und zerklüfteten Uferzonen. Die satten, angrenzenden Wiesen sind mit etwas Schilf bewachsen, im Hintergrund erhebt sich eine Baumgruppe mit Birke. Rechts führt ein kleiner Weg an der Wasserfläche vorbei. Auf diesem ist ein Bauer mit seiner Frau, die einen roten Schirm trägt, zu sehen. Sie gehen hinter einem Pferdefuhrwerk hinterher. Am wolkenverhangenen Himmel sind einige Vögel zu sehen.
