Anmerkung:
Julia Poole, "Italian maiolica and inscised slipware in the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge", Cambridge, 1995, S. 300, Nr. 370. (8910322)

Maiolica albarello
Height: 20.9 cm.
Probably Casteldurante, around 1530.

Notes:
the inscription "PENSATE / ELFINE" meaning think of the end. An albarello of identical form located at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge is painted with a young man holding a wind mill in a similar cartouche, probably from the same pharmacy inventory. Poole believes the "L" underneath, which can be seen on the albarello at the Fitzwilliam Museum, to be for the symbol of the measuring unit libbre (pound), compare Poole, Julia. Italian maiolica and inscised slipware in the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge. Cambridge (1995), p. 300, no 370.
