The Madonna sculpture is depicted facing the onlooker centrally, sitting on an oblong, marbleised block, her hands crossed in front of her chest, the head slightly tilted to the left, the graceful face framed by a head scarf held by a ribbon. Under the scarf centrally parted blond hair is revealed over the forehead. Her gaze is melancholic under raised eyebrows and accentuated half-open eyelids. The folds are softly shaped, both toes emerge parallel from under the dress. The substructure with oblong base, slanted corners and stepped profiles are matching the bench's green marbleised decoration. The whole sculpture is gilded over red bole primer. The Child is lying over the knees to the left and is portrayed as a swaddled baby wrapped in cloth, gilded and with geometric gold ornaments, the head painted in flesh tones.
