Kugelförmige Flasche mit schmalem Hals. Die Lippe nach außen strebend. Die Wandung in mehrere Dekorfelder unterteilt. Die Vorderseite mit einem Rundmedaillon, darin der Kopf eines römischen Soldaten mit Helm sowie Beschriftung "GRADASO". Unterhalb des Medaillons das Signaturschild mit der Beschriftung "Aq. Lupuli". Darunter und um den Fuß umlaufend Rosettendekor in Quadraten. Die rückseitigen, vertikalen Felder mit Blatt- und Rankendekor in Gelb auf dunkelblauem Fond und alternierend Delfindekor auf ockerem Fond. Der Hals ähnlich dekoriert.

Zustand:
Einwandfreier Zustand, keine Restaurierungen.

A Maiolica Apothecary Jar
Height:. 23.5 cm.
Faenza, 16th century.

A ball-shaped jar with a narrow neck. The lip outwardly protruding. The wall is divided into several decorated fields. The front side of the jar has a round medallion, inside is the head of a Roman soldier with a helmet as well as the inscription "GRADASO." Underneath the medallion is a signature shield with the inscription "Aq. Lupuli." Decorated beneath the shield and around the entire foot are rosettes in squares. On the back of the jar are vertical fields with yellow foliage and tendril designs on a dark blue fond alternating with a dolphin design on ochre fond. The neck of the jar is similarly decorated.

Condition:
flawless condition, no restorations.
