Seltene Majolika-Kachel aus der Manufaktur Castelli

Rechteckige Kachel mit der Darstellung einer Frau mit Turban. Kleid und Turban in Grün und Ocker. Unter dem Turban ist die ockerfarbene Frisur zu sehen. Der Ausschnitt des Kleides entblößt die Brust. Dunkelblauer Fond im vierfach gebogtem Feld. Ringsum blauer Rankendekor auf hellblauem Grund.

Zustand:
Kantenbeschädigungen und einige Abplatzungen der Glasur auf der Dekorfläche. Keine Restaurierungen.

A Rare Maiolica Tile from the Manufacture Castelli
Height: 28 cm.
Width: 15.5 cm.
Depth: 3 cm.
First third of the 16th century.

A square tile depicting a woman with a turban. The dress and the turban are green and ochre. Under the turban one can see the ochre colored hair. The neckline of the dress exposes the breast. The dark blue fond is in quadruple curved fields. All around the tile is a blue tendril design on a light blue background. Condition: damages to the rim as well as some spalling to the enamel on the design's surface. No restorations.
