Gemälde aus einer umfangreichen Wanddekoration, hier Ausschnitt mit ganzfiguriger Darstellung eines antik gekleideten und behelmten Jünglings, der mit Speer und Schild nach rechts zieht. Er befindet sich im Kampf gegen einen Löwen, von dem am rechten Bildrand die Schnauze noch erkennbar ist. Äußerst virtuose und in flüssiger Farbe aufgesetzte Malerei nach hervorragendem Entwurf. Die im Hintergrund aufziehenden Bäume in flüssigem Pinselstrich aufgeführt, links daneben ein bärtiger Soldat mit Helm und Hellebarde. Teilweise besch. (881352)
