Unbekleidet, halbfigurig wiedergegeben, sitzt die büßende Maria Magdalena nach links, den rechten Arm aufgestützt. Mit an die Hand gelegtem, geneigtem Kopf blickt sie nach links oben, die linke Hand hat sie auf einen Totenschädel gelegt, unter dem Arm tritt das rote Bekleidungstuch hervor. Das blonde Haar in leicht rötlich-goldener Farbgebung zieht wellig zu den Schultern herab, ein fein gezogener Nimbusreif umzieht das Haupt. Beleuchtung von links oben mit starker, caravaggesker Schattengebung und Hell/ Dunkel-Beleuchtung. (8713920)
