Sohn und Schüler des François Alexandre Desportes. Ein Stilleben seiner Hand befindet sich im Louvre. Er beschickte in den Jahren 1725 - 1739 den Pariser Salon und war mit dem Titel eines „Peintre ordinaire du Roi“ der Akademie ausgezeichnet, erhielt daraufhin 1739 eine Wohnung im Louvre.

Aufbau in strenger Symmetrie. Platten, Schalen, Kannen und ein mit Früchten gefüllter Tafelaufsatz vor gestufter Marmorwand. Im unteren Teil ein Tafelaufsatz mit akurat geschichteten Früchten, kunstvoll gestaffelt in drei Ebenen, seitlich Pastetenschüssel und Teller mit Fleischstück. In der oberen Ebene Gefäße und Porzellanteller, im Hintergrund Parklandschaft und ein zurückgezogenes Velum. Feinmalerei in dezenter Farbigkeit, ganz im Stil der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts.
