Dem Gemälde ist die Originalausgabe von Ph. Zilcken: H. W. Mesdag/ etsen naar schilderejen... beigegeben. Erschienen in Leiden bei A. W. Sejthoff mit zahlreichen Abbildungen, Heliogravüren und Lithos sowie einem Portaitbildnis des Malers, erschienen 1896 mit Goldschnitt und (leicht abgegriffenem) Prachteinband mit Goldprägung.
