Nach links abfallendes, felsiges Gelände mit herab-stürzendem Wasserfall sowie Blick zum Horizont am linken Bildrand. Im Vordergrund auf einem Rasenstück über einem Wurzelstock hat der Maler eine Personengruppe zusammengefügt mit einem Paar am Boden sitzend, daneben ein Mädchen mit Henkeltasche und einem weiteren graubärtigen, alten Wanderer mit Hut und Stock. Von rechts ziehen zwei Eseltreiber aus einem Waldstück hervor. Die Esel reich bepackt mit Körben und Gefäßen. Lockere, fettfarbige Malerei mit Betonung der bräunlich-beigen Farbeffekte, die die Berglandschaft in gelbes Licht tauchen. Detailreich ausgeführt, wie etwa mit zahlreichen fliegenden Vögeln, die um eine Burgruine links oben kreisen. Horizontal mittig durchziehender Fadenriss in der Holzplatte. Durch Parkettleisten gesichert. (8511511)
