Der Maler hat die biblische Legende aus dem Buch Genesis in eine nördliche Baumlandschaft versetzt: Abraham erfährt von drei Engeln die Kunde seiner späten Vaterschaft. Die Figurengruppe vor einer Waldschneise mit Blick auf eine Lichtung, Abraham im Zentrum kniend, links davon drei Engelsgestalten. Rechts im Bild hochragende Eiche, links Baumgruppe, deren Kronen die Szene überdachen. Links Waldrand mit Ausblick in eine tiefer liegende Hügellandschaft, im Mittelgrund ein Gebäude mit Giebel und Seitenturm, sowie einige Staffagefiguren. Qualitätvolle, dem genannten Meister angemessene Malweise. (8107210)
