Frédéric Henri Schopin (eigentlich Chopin),
1804 Lübeck - 1881 Montigny-sur-Loing
Schüler von Gros, erhielt 1830 und 1831 Rompreise, war 1848 Mitglied der Akademie St. Petersburg. Werke seiner Hand im ehemaligen Rathaus zu Paris, in der Schlosskapelle zu Fontainebleau, vertreten in zahlreichen französischen Museen, in Versailles und in London (Wallace Collection).

Paradiesvorstellung des islamischen Mythos. Im Zentrum ein orientalisch gekleideter Herr (Mohammed) auf einem Sessel, umgeben von himmlischen Jungfrauen, die seinen Nachen ziehen und in den Lüften schweben.
Expertise:
Dem Gemälde ist eine Expertise beigegeben mit Hinweis darauf, dass das Gemälde im Pariser Salon von 1852 unter Nummer „1149“ ausgestellt war.
