Abgedunkelter Atelier-Innenraum des ausgehenden 19. Jahrhunderts mit einem auf der Staffelei stehenden Bild mit historischer Szenerie. Davor ein Spinnrad, rechts ein auf einem Stuhl sitzendes Mädchen, das ein Kleinkind auf dem Schoß hält, welches das Bild betrachtet. Im Hintergrund im Dunkel zu erkennen ein Tisch mit Büchern und Flasche sowie ein Halbschrank mit daraufstehenden Gefäßen. Links unten am Fuß der Staffelei Malkasten mit Pinseln sowie ein größeres Buch. Bei der Darstellung handelt es sich wohl um das Atelier des Künstlers selbst, der hier vermutlich seine Kinder portraitiert hat.
