Wiedergabe eines Maler-Interieurs mit einem holländischen Barock-Stuhl, auf dem ein Knabe kniet, der mit Pinsel und Palette an einem Herren-Portrait auf der Staffelei zugange ist. Dabei gelingt es ihm, dem Portraitierten einen roten Fleck ins Gesicht zu malen. Neben der Staffelei steht eine Kiste mit abgestellten Malutensilien sowie eine Zeichenmappe. Rechts im Hintergrund ist eine Wanduhr zu sehen.

Das Bildthema ist unter dem Artikel “Toussaint” bei Thieme-Becker aufgeführt, möglicherweise handelt es sich um eine Replik des im Amsterdamer Reijksmuseum befindlichen Gemäldes unter der Inventar-Datierung von 1920. (740762)
